A repost from last year. I am not quilting at the moment but I am interested in getting a new machine as my #jukidx7 is not dual voltage so no good for the UK. It seems to be very difficult to find out information on dual voltage machines. I know there must be more than #bernina which cost too much for my skill level. I want a pretty basic machine, nothing fancy. I could wait until we move and buy one there but machines are $ -£ so a machine that is $1000 here is £1000 there, so more expensive! #dualvoltagesewingmachine #dualvoltage #juki #sewingmachine
This is what I have been doing since the new year, while I get my head into a good place. I think I am there now. As I am sorting out my art room in preparation for the big move next year, I have decided I am mainly going to concentrate on drawing and painting until then. There is a logic to this, not taking paint with me or throwing it away. Fabric can travel. Also it might give ideas to work on once I return to art quilts. #plans #sashiko #ideas
A golden oldie 😊 I was about 17 when I painted the Battersea power station that I could see from my bedroom window if I turned my head a sharp left😂🤣 Fortunately I had a little Kodak instamatic camera to take a picture and then make this little painting on paper.
As usual January was tough to get through and for the last 2 weeks, the household has been struck down with COVID! Add an ice storm in the mix and you have the blues. During this time, I have been doing 4" squares of #sashiko stitching. It's a good meditative process while I work through this lack of creative energy. However, not so interesting to post! So it was a nice surprise today to receive my Book from the #sketchbook project. I completed it in 2012 and never thought I would see it again. Unfortunately the Brooklyn Art library is closing down and we were given the chance to have them returned.#brooklynartlibrary #brooklynartlibrarysketchbookproject #covid #icestorm2023centraltexas #mixedmedia
2023 is going to be a year of hand stitching Sashiko, boro and small art quilts. I am going keep up the drawing practice and zentangles. Not made a great start to be honest but I made a beginning today. #sashiko #sashiko365 #japaneseborostitching #handstitching
